Gary Luff
Gary is the Managing Director of Luff & Associates Ltd, incorporated during the early 90’s and set up for the sole purpose of forensic fire investigation for Insurance Companies and Legal Advisors.
He is an ex-Detective Sergeant, previously attached to the arson squad of the Sydney Criminal Investigation Branch, responsible for the investigation of fires within the greater New South Wales area.
Since commencing in New Zealand, Gary has investigated fires within both islands of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, including Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea.
Gary’s investigation of fires includes domestic/commercial structures, marine/shipping, forestry and heavy implements/machinery.
He also undertakes investigations in the criminal jurisdiction for the public defender’s office and the New Zealand Police.
Gary has been granted expert witness status within the High Court of New Zealand and the previously mentioned Pacific Island countries.
Throughout his career, Gary has worked on a wide range of complex cases, that includes fire related incidents within the residential and rural sectors.
